narrative change - removal of the drummer
When we found that it would be too difficult to have the drummer performing on the top of Primrose Hill, for various reasons such as the issue of transporting the drums to the location, and setting them up as well as the fact that we could get in trouble for doing this. We then thought that we could have the band performing together in a studio location instead. We shot all of the footage we thought that would be needed for the video, however upon reviewing the footage, we found that the lighting was too poor to use and would not fit in well with the video. This is why we decided to not include footage of the band playing together at all. This altered the narrative and we questioned this as we thought it may have been an issue as the drummer is not in the video. The narrative became about the band coming together to fulfil their dream and not to perform. The end scene of the video has the band running up the hill to their dreams. We found that as the drummer is so heavily featured in the actual song, we could use him as a silent member, he appears in the photos and products but not in the video, this was also done in other music videos such as Lucky Man by The Verve.
