Heathens - Twenty One Pilots:
The video starts with a plane travelling towards an unknown location. This then changes to a low angle shot of a plane landing into the location. The introduction to the location is a picture spray painted onto a barbed-wire covered wall, this lets you know it takes place in a prison. The start of the video only uses background noise until the music starts. The singer is walked through the prison block as a prisoner. There are constant switches between the singer and the drummer who are both in separate cells. As this is a movie soundtrack, the video features scenes from the movie which also appear randomly. The video seems chaotic as with the title as the idea is that they are up to no good. The singer sitting alone is used a lot. The lip syncing is lined up exactly which shows how professional the video is. The singer is now walking around the prison and transitions from being in a dark corridor in a prison uniform to a well lit room and wearing a suit. The band are then surrounded by prisoners in a dark room where a spotlight is on them. The prisoners seem to like the song and are dancing along to it. The narrative of the video becomes clear as the video progresses, it relates to the stages of the movie, as the actors are locked up so is he, when they are released so is he, the words also work with the actors movements such as actions scenes. The end of the video then ends with it fading to go black while an alarm is going suggesting he has escaped or something has gone wrong.
