The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony:
The start of the video is very similar to ours as it starts with a tracking shot of the main singer's legs as he walks. We found this effective as it allows the audience to go on the journey with the artist. It encourages the fans to follow the artist's journey. The video uses a pan to show who the artist is and build up tension to the moment. By not knowing who thebans member is, it makes the video more exciting, we are planning to do something similar in our video. A youthful audience is probably better ad they are a more exploratory group and will enjoy the video more. The Verve are in the same genre as our band and therefore we intend to use similar techniques to ones they used.
One Direction - One Thing:
The video is about 4 youthful boys travelling around London. The fans in the video show that the band have a very positive star image already. They are however a synthetic boyband as they were created by a TV show. Their music focuses on their fans loving them and them knowing this will make the fans crazy. The band is not about about making music but rather for the publicity. Our band is organic and makes music for the audience. Fans in a music video is only ideal for synthetic artists who crave the approval. Our bands star image is reliant on the fact they make music for the fans and because they love it. The genre of this video is Pop which is not the genre our band will be using.
Kiesza - Hideaway:
Similar to the Verve video above, the artist is walking down the street singing her song, the video is filmed in one take with no cuts. We felt this isn't ideal as a video should have a break otherwise it can get boring. Also we are going to various locations and therefore this would not be feasible. This video also uses a lot of dancing which shows the genre as being dance/club which we are not focusing on.
