Shoot day 1: This took place in early November. We all met up at Waterloo station, this is where we took stills of Caleb and other shots of him sitting on the train with his guitar. The first location we went to was by the Thames, this is where we filmed tracking shots of Caleb walking through the city. The natural lighting on the day was ideal as it allowed for perfect conditions with no rain, bright sunlight or wind. We then travelled to the Barbican to film the singer Alex. We filmed majority of the scenes at this location, this included low angle shots, tracking shots and wide shots. By having a shot-by-shot list we were able to see what we needed to shoot and when we needed to do it. We also improvised in some of the shots as there was a good opportunity to to so. We then went to Chalk Farm after eating lunch to shoot the last scenes of the day. These shots mostly involved George walking through the streets of Camden and meeting with the other two band members. These shots were mostly tracking, medium and close ups of George with his guitar. Once we had finished filming George walking, we then filmed the group together in Primrose Hill, this is where the band run up the hill and fade away. This was difficult to do as our camera man had to run up a wet and muddy hill, chasing the three band members, all whilst keeping the camera steady.
Shoot day 2: This took place in December. We filmed the shots of the entire band on this day, this day was from about 12pm until 4pm. We arrived early before the band members to just clear up the details and ensure everything was ok to shoot. We then had Ben once he arrived set up the drum set in the corner of the room, this was where he would be in the footage taken. Once all of the band members arrived we tried a variety of shot ranging from low to high angle in order to see which worked best. We also all attempted filming our own shots to see if our perspective changed anything however it did not. The band performed the song as we had a speaker playing the song so they could match the words and tune. However after the day of shooting, when we looked over the footage, the lighting was of too poor a quality to use in the video.
